baby blue

I have only been birdwatching properly for the past 18 months.Now I'm hooked. I've always had a nesting box on the wall and it has often been used successfully by blue tits. I get many goldfinches, coal tits great tits, long tailed tits. I'm sure the blue tits are the offspring of the past blue tits that have successfully bred. I've watch them feed and grow from fledglings. I've noticed this past 2 wks that a blue tit is using an ornamental bird box that I have on my shed wall for sleeping in at night. Every tea time just as the sun goes down he or she will fly into the box an stays there probably til first light. I can time it almost exactly. It happens about 5pm -5.20pm, depending on how good or bad the weather's been. It's like clockwork. I wait for it to happen every day. I don't know how long it's been doing it, maybe all winter but I've only just noticed and I made a point of watching around the same time every day. He never comes out cos I,ve watched til dark. What a clever little bird.
