Ear We Go

Our Good Mate Cheesey, from Palm/Dagger recently went under the surgeon's drill to have bony growths removed. These are commonly known as surfer's ear and are grown by the ear in reaction to constant flushing with cold water. Cheese is recovering and hopes to be hitting the river again soon and said, "I'm not convinced they've put back on straight! I can't feel the ear at the mo' and I can't really hear much." To prevent this happening to you we'd certainly reccomend the use of ear plugs or a neoprene skull cap that covers the ears. To keep up with Cheese's, and the other Palm athletes, adventures have a look here www.palmequipmenteurope.com/blogs/ to find out more about surfer's ear go here www.earhelp.co.uk/SurfersEar.html

Rain... On my Window...

Sat at my desk looking at the rain hammering down outside, reading about other paddlers adventures, on the rain full rivers of the West Country and Wales, on the forums. Tis river season and I've yet to get out on any of my favourite runs yet this season and I'm starting to go a little stir carzy. It's rapids that I want to be riding not a desk, a paddle in my hand, not a mouse! I know I'm not alone though, most of us have to endure the working week, staring at the rain streaking the office windows, praying that it'll last to the weekend, as we wait for Friday to come...

Wrong Trousers

Up to my ears in dry trousers and salopettes today. We've been testing a whole bunch of them for a group test for a few months now, and I've just gathered them back in from the test team for inspection. As I opened up the dry bag full of returned trews CK Towers developed a whiff of what can only be described as very similar to cat pee! This can only be a sign that the testers have been leaving their kit sat in dry bags and plastic barrels between paddling sessions again, or one or two of them have had unfortunate accidents while sporting said trousers (unlikely as most of them now have relief zips)! Ah, well all part of the joys of the job I suppose! We'll be bringing you our findings in issue 94 of CK.
