Currently in Germany at the 2007 Kanumesse trade show. It's the biggest gathering of paddle-sports manufacturers, designers, retailers and importers in the world. With all that shiny new gear on display, not to mention gallons of free German beer on offer, how could Team CKUK resist. So it was up with the sparrows and off to the airport to jump on a plane to Nuremburg. Loads of interesting stuff in the pipeline with some exciting devlopments in particular for the big guys, ladies and kids. We'll post up a full report and images as soon as possible to wet your appetites on 2008 new toys ; )

Nope not ripping it up on a wave, but the CKUK/Climber Mags Human Hot Dog Competition of course! Pictured are CK Andy and Climber Jo sporting the required outfit, Andy just takes the win in my opinion, all he's missing is the onions ; ) Who says we don't take work seriously in our office?

Headed North yesterday to hook up with high-performance surf kayaker Chris Harvey. Conditions weren't perfect, but the sun shone and we still managed to find a surfable head-high reef-break, or two! Chris showed just why he's one of the best surf kayakers out there and I stood up to my waist in kelp for an hour or two. After a coffee and a spot of lunch we hit another break, smaller waves this time, but nicely formed. I suited up and swam out in to the break to try and shoot some stuff with the Go-Pro Hero wrist mounted digital camera. Kind of scary being up to your neck, standing on a reef as a surf kayak comes barrelling along a wave face straight at your head! Chris is a pro though, so I trusted him not to remove my swede with his fins. They'll be a full interview with Chris in issue 80 and a test report on the Hero coming soon too.
