You need Arms...

In-between organising the most excellent 2008 Plastic Fantastic Alpkit Kayak Series Jim 'Mr Gear' Evans has been out and about testing a Peak UK Combi cag over the last few weeks. It's a versatile piece of kit, especially with the addition of the neoprene arms. Anyway when I tracked down Jim to do the photos for the test it was a lovely sunny, but Baltic, day in Nottingham. He happily got stuck in spinning and looping away happy a Larry with his toasty arms. Trooper that Jim is he barely raised an eyebrow (probably because they were frozen) when I asked him to remove the sleeves and do a bit of paddling with the cag in its 'shorty' guise. He duly obliged and by the time he got off the water it was hard to tell where the purple of the cag ended and his bare arms began... Who says gear testing is a glamorous business? Check out Issue 87 for a full report. For more info visit www.peakuk.com and to keep up with Jim's adventures and the PFAKS visit www.alpkit.com
