Glorious scenery and a wealth of upland, woodland, marshland and riparian species.
Itinerary by Arfon Williams
Overview
Devil’s Bridge (or Pontarfynach in Welsh) lies within some of the most stunning scenery in mid Wales. The surrounding countryside includes broadleaved and coniferous woodlands, steep river valleys and rolling, open hills, with the expansive wetland of Tregaron Bog to the south. A day’s birding here in May should result in a decent list of Welsh specialities.
BirdsRed Kite, Goshawk, Merlin, Peregrine Falcon, Raven, Ring Ouzel, Goosander, Common Crossbill, Dipper, Pied Flycatcher, Common Redstart, Wood Warbler, Grasshopper Warbler and Common Sandpiper.
