Birding from the Hip is the latest publication to come from the Sound Approach. Known for their novel approach to bird identification through sounds, this new book is a departure from this, instead featuring the writings of one of birding’s great exponents of humorous writing.

Anthony McGeehan will be familiar to many Birdwatch readers from his Birding from the Hip series of articles that started in the magazine. This book brings them up to date and adds many, many more. The book is accompanied by two CDs containing stories narrated by the author, with a musical backing.

You can now get an exclusive sneak preview of the book and its CDs in the latest issue of Birdwatch which contains a free CD of three stories, plus one within the magazine itself. There is also an exclusive reader offer, with a saving of £2 when purchasing the book through the Birdwatch Bookshop. The offer, at a special price of £27.95, is open until 30 September 2009 using a special form within the magazine or by using the credit card hotline: 020 8881 0550. email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
