Writing reviews E-mail

A review is a critical evaluation of a product that offers clear advice and comment about its suitability. It should cover what is good or bad about the item in a balanced and informed way.

Reviews serve two purposes: they help a prospective buyer to make a good choice; and they serve to publicise an item on behalf of the seller to an interested audience.

While reviews are a personal viewpoint, they must not be used to defame a person or product.

A good review will contain:

  • A summary of the item and what it is supposed to be/do.
  • At which consumer(s) the item is aimed.
  • Details about the purchase price of the product and who has written/published/manufactured it.
  • Personal comment on whether it achieves its intended purpose, with both positive and negative aspects included.
  • A final summary and recommendation on whether it is suitable for purchase, and by whom.

The review should leave the reader in no doubt as to whether it is worth purchasing the product.
